Reviews

For Bean at the Hollywood Fringe Festival:

“Michelle Lema’s one woman show Bean is a very up close and personal experience; an experiment in intimacy and disclosure of those moments in life that make you who you are, or who you think you are.” - LA Theatre Review

“These kinds of shows depend almost entirely on the performer's personality and wit, and Lema has plenty enough to get her through.” - LAist

For Bean at Fringe World Festival Perth:

“Armed with little more than a cooking spatula and a kindy-class chair, the diminutive writer-actor is a lively, likable and witty performer.” - The West Australian

“Lema gives some wonderfully detailed accounts of the intimacy, intensity and inventiveness of childhood experiences.” - The West Australian

“A solo theatre show that brings you closer to the funny and touching journey of a girl in a big world, who is not quite ready to grow up.” - The Sunday Times

“Top 10 treasury shows not to miss.” The Sunday Times

Bean

Named Best of Hollywood Fringe and a Top Ten Pick of Fringe World Festival in Perth, Australia, this funny and weird solo show tells the story of a young adult named Bean as she searches to reconnect with the fearlessness she had as a child.

Bean II

In this solo show sequel to Bean that debuted at the Los Angeles Solo Festival, an unfortunate dating curse has been place on Bean and if she can’t figure out how to break it, she will be doomed to go on awkward and terrible dates—forever!

Bean vs. The Robots

A solo show with sci-fi rom-com vibes, exploring careers, love, friendship, and what happens when we desperately try to separate our work from our life. Photo is from the first reading of the show at the Pop-Hop in Highland Park.
